Project Description
What is cultural anthropology? How has the sixteen course changed the way you view the world around you? For this assignment you will need to incorporate 3 concepts from 3 readings to show understanding of this subject. The final “What is Anthropology?” film will be 4 minutes long.

Additionally, you will be responsible for collecting footage inside and outside of school. After collecting footage, you will need to import your footage from your camera into iMovie. This assignment is due at the end of class on Friday, 11/4. Your film will be graded based on the following guidelines:

Narration: 20 points
Film presents a clear narrative in the introduction that explains your understanding of anthropology, what you have learned in the class, and the purpose of your video. When necessary, footage in the documentary is explained through narrative.

Readings: 20 points
Your film incorporates evidence from three class readings to demonstrate understanding of the topic and how coming of age is experienced around the globe.

Concepts: 20 points
Your film incorporates evidence from three concepts from class readings to demonstrate understanding of the topic and how coming of age is experienced around the globe.

Footage: 20 points
Your final film contains a mix of footage shot inside school (no more than 40%) and outside of school (at least 60%). The film contains a mix of interviews and action footage that shows, rather than tells, the concept you are discussing in your film.

Film Shots: 10 points
Your film utilizes a variety of film shots and sequence shots such as over the shoulder, close-up, long shot, high angle shot, over the shoulder, point of view, etc.

Editing: 10 points
All footage is edited in iMovie, include transitions and titles when necessary, and are clear and concise.
